Privacy policy

Last updated 6 October 2026

This policy explains what information Vitaleety collects, why, and the choices you have. We process personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

What we collect

  • Account details: your name, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash).
  • Health and body information you give us: age, sex, height, weight, goals, health conditions, allergies, diet, and anything you log, such as weight, measurements, blood glucose and blood pressure.
  • How you use Vitaleety: your meal plans, shopping lists, favourite recipes, and your conversations with Vyta, our assistant.
  • Payments: if you subscribe or place an order, our payment provider handles your card details. We see only a payment reference and whether it succeeded.
  • Basic usage data: anonymous page-view statistics that help us improve the service.
  • Chatting with Vyta on our website without an account: we don't save what you ask. To limit how many questions each visitor can ask in a day, we keep a one-way code made from your IP address, not the address itself, for 24 hours.

Why we use it

  • To build meal plans, targets and advice that fit your body, goals and health conditions.
  • To run your account, take payments, and send emails you need, such as verification and receipts.
  • To keep the service secure and to understand, in aggregate, how it's used.

Health information is sensitive personal data. We process it only with your consent, which you give when you create an account. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run Vitaleety, and only what each needs:

  • Hosting and database providers, which store your account and data.
  • Anthropic, which provides the AI behind Vyta. When you chat with Vyta, your messages and the parts of your profile and plan it needs to answer are sent to it. Without an account, only your messages are sent.
  • Our email provider, to send account and order emails.
  • Paystack, to process payments.

Some of these providers process data outside Nigeria. Where that happens, we rely on their contractual commitments to protect it.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account, it's closed straight away and you can no longer sign in. If you also want the information held on your account erased, contact us using the details on our website and we'll do it.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, have it erased, or receive a copy. You can update most of it yourself in the app. To make any other request, contact us using the details on our website. You also have the right to complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

Children

Vitaleety is for adults aged 18 and over, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
